England Beats Serbia 1 0 At Euro 2024

England beats Serbia 1-0 at EURO 2024

Bellingham's goal secures victory

England has started its European Championship campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Serbia thanks to a first-half strike from Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder, found the back of the net in the 35th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the Serbian penalty area and fired past goalkeeper Predrag Rajković.

The goal proved to be the only one of the match, as both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances in a cagey and tense encounter.

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was called into action to make a number of saves, including a stunning stop from a Dusan Vlahovic header in the second half.

The win gives England a vital three points in Group C, which also includes Scotland and the Czech Republic.

Serbia, meanwhile, will be disappointed not to have taken anything from the game but will have a chance to bounce back when they face Scotland on Thursday.
