How does EURO 2024 qualifying work?

The qualifying draw took place in Frankfurt on Sunday 9 October 2022. The 53 national teams were drawn into 10 groups, with the top two teams in each group qualifying directly for the finals. The remaining four third-placed teams will then contest two-legged play-offs to determine the final three qualifiers.

The qualifying fixtures

The qualifying fixtures will be played on the following dates:

• Matchday 1: 23-25 March 2023
• Matchday 2: 26-28 March 2023
• Matchday 3: 16-17 June 2023
• Matchday 4: 19-20 June 2023
• Matchday 5: 7-9 September 2023
• Matchday 6: 10-12 September 2023
• Matchday 7: 12-14 October 2023
• Matchday 8: 15-17 October 2023
• Matchday 9: 16-18 November 2023
• Matchday 10: 19-21 November 2023

The play-offs

The play-offs will be played on the following dates:

• Semi-finals: 21-23 March 2024
• Finals: 26-28 March 2024
